The position available is for a Housekeeper who will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the property. This is a hands-on role focused on cleaning and maintaining both the communal living spaces and individual resident apartments. The Housekeeper's responsibilities extend from dusting and vacuuming to operating laundry equipment and maintaining proper storage of cleaning materials. The role demands a strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols, including the use of approved cleaning products.

Key aspects of the role include overseeing the entire facility’s cleanliness with particular emphasis on common areas and apartment bathrooms. The Housekeeper will also be responsible for reporting maintenance issues and damaged furnishings to the housekeeping supervisor, ensuring timely interventions to maintain a safe environment. A significant part of the job includes managing laundry tasks, assisting with move-out apartment cleanings, and ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of all resident information is respected and upheld.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Housekeeping experience highly desired
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team
  • Polite and courteous to all residents, visitors, co-workers and management team
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet
  • Must wear designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversee cleaning of the entire facility with emphasis on common areas and apartment bathrooms
  • Complete maintenance request reports when needed
  • Report deterioration or damage to building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor
  • Operate laundry equipment when needed
  • Report inadequate supplies to housekeeping supervisor
  • Use only approved cleaning products and properly store supplies
  • Clean office areas when assigned
  • Dust and clean window blinds, furniture, bookshelves in resident apartments and common areas
  • Vacuum common areas and resident apartments
  • Keep common areas and resident bathrooms clean
  • Clean apartments at resident move-out
  • Attend required in-services and staff meetings
  • Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality
  • Follow policies regarding release of resident information
  • Perform other assigned duties
