Job Description

The role of the Housekeeper within this community is crucial in ensuring that all common living areas and resident apartments are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The Housekeeper will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning of the entire facility, with particular emphasis on the common areas and apartment bathrooms. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. Duties include completing maintenance request reports when necessary, reporting any deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings, and operating laundry equipment as needed. The Housekeeper will also report any insufficient quantities of cleaning supplies that are needed to perform their duties to the housekeeping supervisor.

In addition to routine cleaning, the Housekeeper is expected to use only approved cleaning products and ensure that all cleaning supplies are properly stored at all times for safety and compliance. This role also involves cleaning office areas, dusting window blinds, furniture, bookshelves in both resident apartments and common areas, and vacuuming floors throughout the facility. Maintaining clean and sanitary bathrooms in the common areas and resident apartments is a key responsibility, as is the cleaning of apartments during resident move-outs.

The Housekeeper is also expected to attend required in-services and staff meetings, maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times, and adhere strictly to all policies regarding the release of resident information. Teamwork is emphasized, and the person in this role will be expected to work well with others and display polite and courteous behavior towards residents, visitors, co-workers, and the management team. Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the community, requiring flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever necessary.

This position demands physical stamina as it requires standing, walking, kneeling, bending, grasping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and carry objects for up to 20 feet. The Housekeeper must adhere to the designated uniform policy during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is a requirement for this role, providing the chance to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Housekeeping experience highly desired
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team
  • Polite and courteous to residents, visitors, co-workers and management
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversee cleaning of the entire facility with emphasis on common areas and apartment bathrooms
