Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year experience in housekeeping preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • satisfactory criminal background check
  • negative drug screening
  • physical examination clearance by a licensed physician
  • capability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • comprehension of infection control and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to read write and speak English
  • desire to work with older adults
  • friendly caring disposition
  • must be 18 years of age
  • must have satisfactory criminal history check
  • must have physical exam by licensed physician
  • must have negative drug screen
  • understanding of risk of exposure to infectious waste disease chemicals and disinfectants
  • ability to react in emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Clean all common areas including guest restrooms according to schedule
  • vacuum carpeted areas
  • dust furniture and common items
  • clean glass surfaces
  • clean doors doorways and walls
  • vacuum upholstery furniture
  • clean and disinfect common areas and public bathrooms
  • mop floors in common areas and bathrooms
  • clean and disinfect soiled utility bins
  • clean and organize laundry areas and storage closets
  • clean residents' rooms and apartments according to schedule
  • respond to resident emergencies following policy and procedure
  • offer choice maintain dignity and promote individuality for residents
  • maintain confidentiality of residents
  • obtain continuing education and maintain CPR and First Aid certification
  • report supply needs to Maintenance Director
  • practice infection control policies and safety precautions
  • secure housekeeping equipment and supplies
  • store hazardous cleaning products properly
  • properly dispose of soiled clothing or linens
  • report changes in resident condition to Shift Supervisor
  • attend staff meetings and training
  • communicate effectively with residents and management
  • review communication tools daily
  • notify supervisors of resident condition changes
  • respond to on-the-job injuries
  • notify supervisors of concerns from residents' family members
  • carry out other duties as assigned
