York Gardens Senior Living is a well-established and respected senior living community located in the vibrant city of Edina. Nestled conveniently near major transportation routes including Highways 100, I-35W, and I-494, York Gardens provides easy accessibility for residents, visitors, and staff alike. The community offers a diverse living environment comprising 76 apartments that include Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care options. The role available at York Gardens Senior Living is for a full-time Housekeeper/Cleaner who plays an integral role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of the community. This position involves creating a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for senior residents, staff members, and visitors. The Housekeeper/Cleaner will be responsible for cleaning both resident rooms and community common areas, ensuring that all living spaces meet the high standards of hygiene and comfort required in a senior living setting. This includes duties such as vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping hard surfaces, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms, and cleaning windows and mirrors. The role demands attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently to complete assignments within set time frames. Safely handling cleaning chemicals and equipment while adhering to OSHA standards and safety protocols is essential to the position. Additional responsibilities cover emergency spill cleanup, light maintenance assistance, and maintaining the housekeeping cart and storage areas. The position operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, working 80 hours over two weeks, qualifying it as a full-time role.

- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1 to 3 years of experience preferred
- Experience utilizing software programs such as Educare or TELS preferred
Job Duties
- Cleans resident and common areas of the community as assigned
- Performs thorough cleaning of all assigned areas including vacuuming carpets sweeping and mopping hard floor surfaces dusting and damp wiping surfaces sanitizing bathrooms and cleaning all glass windows and mirrors
- Prioritizes tasks and completes within allotted time
- Assists in cleaning emergency spills as needed
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned
- Follows cleaning schedule and instructions regarding specifications of resident’s individualized housekeeping needs
- Performs job duties safely using correct body mechanics and personal protective equipment
