The position available at Guilford College involves responsibilities that are crucial to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campus for all members of the College community. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing a wide range of areas such as restrooms, classrooms, offices, residence halls, lounges, and common areas. The ideal candidate for this role will be capable of performing various cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash and recycling containers, replenishing supplies such as soap and paper products, and cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces. The position also requires reporting maintenance issues such as plumbing, lighting, or damage concerns to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution. Employees in this role must adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines diligently and secure buildings and rooms after completing their cleaning duties.

Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive motion tasks, as well as the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 25 to 40 pounds, are essential requirements. The job also involves occasional use of step stools to reach high surfaces and working in varying environments, including dormitories, offices, restrooms, and outdoor walkways, sometimes in both hot and cold conditions depending on the weather and building settings.
