Job Description
Presbyterian Living is a well-established, independent nonprofit senior living organization that has been dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care since its inception in 1904. The organization offers a full continuum of senior care services, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. With communities located in Evanston (Westminster Place and Ten Twenty Grove), Lake Forest (Lake Forest Place), and Arlington Heights (The Moorings), Presbyterian Living serves residents with care, dignity, and respect. Their mission centers on creating supportive environments that promote wellness, independence, joy, and security for seniors and their families. Recognized as a Great Place to Work, the organization prides itself on fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and support for all employees, ensuring each team member feels valued and empowered.
The position available is for a full-time Housekeeper at Westminster Place, working from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, five days a week with rotating weekends. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. Housekeepers at Westminster Place are integral to the community's daily operations, performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure all areas meet the high standards expected. The role offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.82 to $24.89, subject to experience, along with a shift differential. Additionally, new hires are eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus as a token of appreciation.
Housekeepers at Westminster Place are expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while efficiently managing their responsibilities. Duties include dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens thoroughly, changing bed linens, making beds, cleaning common areas, handling special cleaning projects, trash pickup, and infection control. The role requires fluency in English to communicate effectively within the team and with the residents when necessary. Previous experience between zero to two years is preferred but not mandatory, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance a career in housekeeping within a supportive and mission-driven environment.
Employees at Westminster Place benefit from a comprehensive package that addresses health, financial security, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, onsite fitness facilities, financial counseling options, life insurance, disability coverage, employee assistance programs (EAP), tuition reimbursement, scholarships, mentorship, career pathway development, community engagement events, and 24/7 chaplain counseling for spiritual support. The culture promotes collaboration, compassion, and a positive atmosphere where employees can thrive both professionally and personally.
Joining the team at Westminster Place means becoming part of a community that values each member's contribution and encourages professional development and personal fulfillment. The organization welcomes individuals motivated to make a meaningful difference in the lives of senior residents by providing exceptional housekeeping services that contribute to their comfort and well-being. As a nonprofit entity committed to equity and inclusion, Presbyterian Living is an equal opportunity employer that invites applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply and bring their unique strengths to the team.
