Emerald Queen Casino is a renowned casino and hotel resort operated by the Puyallup Tribe, located in Washington State. The Housekeeper position at Emerald Queen Casino is an integral role responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of the hotel’s guest rooms and public areas. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring that rooms are spotless, comfortable, and well-stocked with necessary amenities. The Housekeeper will be expected to adhere to detailed cleaning procedures including dusting, mopping, and disinfecting various surfaces such as counters, baths, showers, toilets, coffee makers, microwaves, refrigerators, furniture, and windows. Additionally, the role requires managing the inventory and restocking of cleaning supplies and guest amenities. The Housekeeper will also handle waste removal tasks including garbage, recycling, and linens, ensuring all areas meet the establishment's hygiene standards.

Beyond routine cleaning duties, the Housekeeper will be proactive in inspecting rooms, halls, and lobbies to identify any needed repairs or furniture replacements, promptly reporting these issues to the management team. This position demands excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and address their needs in a timely manner. Familiarity with casino-specific policies, the use of personal protective equipment, and the ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently are critical for success in this role. Physical stamina is essential as the role involves standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling in a typically smoke-filled casino environment.

The position offers competitive pay starting at $19.32 per hour, which increases to $20.46 per hour after a successful 90-day orientation period. Additional certifications needed include Customer Service, SARC, Sexual Harassment, Blood Borne Pathogens, and CPR First Aid. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • three months of hotel housekeeping experience
  • knowledge and experience using and operating cleaning equipment
  • ability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • must obtain III B gaming license from Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and Washington State Gaming Commission
  • pre-employment drug testing
  • must tolerate casino smoke-filled environment
  • ability to lift items up to 25 lbs
  • ability to push/pull up to 150 lbs

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Cleans the inside of a designated minimum number of guest rooms thoroughly each day
  • dusts, mops, vacuums, strips bed linens, and makes beds
  • disinfects counters, bath/shower, toilet area, coffee maker, microwave oven, refrigerator, furniture, and windows
  • restocks hotel room amenities such as soap, lotion, shampoo, and coffee maker supply
  • collects garbage, recyclables, soiled linens, and other waste from guest rooms
  • stocks and inventories supply and cleaning products on the cleaning cart
  • keeps the interior of the hotel public areas clean
  • advises designated hotel staff when rooms are complete and ready for occupancy
  • examines rooms, halls, and lobbies to determine any need for repairs or replacement of furniture and equipment
  • cleans and dusts heating/air conditioning units as necessary
  • cleans guest exercise room and keeps pool area tidy
  • arranges informational fliers, brochures, and related materials in an orderly fashion
  • responds to guest requests in timely manner
  • reports missing or damaged furniture or equipment
  • utilizes personal protective equipment as required
  • perform other duties as assigned
