The Housekeeper attentively cleans resident suites, public spaces, and support areas, respecting residents’ privacy by communicating prior to entering their rooms. Team members also manage laundry services by sorting, washing, drying, folding, and inspecting linens to meet hygiene and quality benchmarks.\n\nThis position strongly supports resident care by assisting with requests and facilitating a positive living experience aligned with Sunrise’s Shared Values. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services that meet quality standards
- Desire to work with seniors
- Compliance with Sunrise vehicle safety responsibilities if applicable
- Successful completion of pre-employment screenings and health evaluations
- COVID-19 and influenza vaccination if mandated by law
- Ability to follow all community procedures and guidelines
- Availability to participate in required training and meetings
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas while meeting or exceeding quality standards
- Perform scheduled cleaning tasks including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors and carpets
- Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
- Dust, wash, sponge mop, and hand shampoo furniture and polish surfaces like glass, woodwork, walls, and windowsills
- Respect resident privacy by knocking before entering rooms
- Maintain cleanliness and order of housekeeping equipment and supplies
- Transport and manage clean and soiled linens to appropriate storage and collection areas
- Collect and remove trash and maintain trash receptacles in a sanitary condition
- Collect, clean, sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack community laundry following approved procedures
- Inspect linens routinely for wear and tear and report damage according to standard operating procedures
- Maintain commercial laundry facilities in a clean and orderly state
- Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care as requested
- Respond to resident requests following Sunrise Shared Values
- Document and review relevant resident information from the Daily Log
- Store cleaning chemicals securely when not in use
- Keep equipment and carts out of pathways and in compliance with fire codes
- Comply with occupational health and safety regulations and safety rules including PPE usage
- Adhere to infection control protocols including proper bio-hazard container handling
- Participate actively in team engagement programs and meetings
- Maintain compliance with all required training and regulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
