Job Description

Drury Hotels is a nationally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and a supportive workplace culture. With properties across the United States, Drury Hotels prides itself on providing a welcoming atmosphere where employees and guests alike feel valued and respected. The company has earned multiple top employer awards and was recently ranked among Newsweek's America's Greatest Workplaces 2025, reflecting its dedication to creating a positive and inclusive environment. Drury Hotels emphasizes work-life balance, career growth opportunities, and competitive benefits to support its team members in and out of the workplace.

Located at 5505 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa, this Drury Hotel is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time housekeepers. This opportunity offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $17.15 to $19 per hour, depending on experience, along with the potential to earn quarterly bonuses totaling up to $3,200 annually. Drury Hotels values employees not just for the work they do but for who they are. Employees enjoy flexible schedules, paid time off, hotel discounts, free room nights, and access to extensive health benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and a Team Member Assistance Program. Additionally, the company provides a company-matched 401(k) retirement plan to help employees plan for their financial futures.

In the role of housekeeper, team members play a critical part in delivering clean, comfortable, and memorable environments for both business travelers and vacationing families. Housekeepers ensure that guest rooms meet high cleanliness standards, shining bathrooms, changing linens, vacuuming floors, and inspecting rooms for maintenance needs. This role demands an eye for detail and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction, helping guests relax and enjoy their stay with the confidence that every room is immaculate. Beyond cleaning duties, housekeepers also assist guests by providing additional linens, towels, amenities, or information, showcasing friendly, polite service with a 'Service +1' attitude.

The hotel operates seven days a week, with weekends being especially busy, so availability to work Saturdays and Sundays may be required. No prior cleaning experience is necessary, making this an ideal opportunity for candidates who are ready to begin a new career in hospitality. The position requires basic educational attainment equivalent to two years of high school and the physical ability to perform tasks such as walking, standing for an entire shift, reaching, stretching, and lifting 25 to 35 pounds intermittently. Housekeepers work independently while following written and verbal instructions but also maintain positive relations with supervisors and other departments.

Drury Hotels fosters a promote-from-within culture, providing mentorship, cross-training, development plans, and management training programs that support rapid career advancement. Many of the company’s management team started in frontline roles and have risen through the ranks internally. Working at Drury Hotels means more than just a job; it means belonging to a team that feels like family where you can grow your skills and advance your career. Employees report that the company’s supportive culture and ability to balance life outside work are key reasons why they stay long term.

If you are a person with a positive attitude, a strong dedication to service excellence, and eagerness to be part of a fun and supportive team, this housekeeper position at Drury Hotels offers a fantastic opportunity to join a respected hospitality leader. With competitive pay, full benefits, and opportunities for bonuses and growth, this role is a perfect fit for individuals seeking stable employment with value and respect.
