Job Description
Rogers Behavioral Health is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit provider of highly specialized psychiatric care, founded in 1907. With over a century of experience, it is dedicated to offering evidence-based treatments for adults, children, and adolescents who suffer from a wide range of mental health disorders including depression, mood disorders, eating disorders, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, and posttraumatic stress disorder. Rogers Behavioral Health operates several inpatient facilities in southeastern Wisconsin and a growing network of outpatient service locations across the United States. The agency is committed to measurement-based care and the use of clinical outcomes to guide treatment and improve patient recovery rates. Beyond direct clinical care, Rogers Behavioral Health also encompasses the Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation which supports patient care initiatives, programs, and research efforts; and Rogers InHealth, an initiative focused on eliminating the stigma associated with mental health challenges.
The position available is a shift-based Environmental Services role focused on delivering essential facility services, general housekeeping tasks, and maintaining infection control standards. This role supports the smooth operation of all facility buildings by ensuring they are clean, sanitary, and safe for patients, staff, and visitors. The Environmental Services team is vital for creating a welcoming environment conducive to mental health recovery. Responsibilities within this multidisciplinary function include assisting staff with agitated patients when necessary, supporting patient room searches, helping orient and train new staff members under management guidance, and actively contributing to multidisciplinary performance improvement projects. Daily communication with unit and program managers is required for effective task coordination.
The general housekeeping duties involve thorough cleaning and sanitation of patient areas such as bathrooms, day rooms, bedrooms, offices, and group rooms. Tasks include cleaning floors, furniture, windows, sinks, showers, and changing bed linens after patient discharge. Logistics duties include sorting and transporting clean linens, maintaining linen storage areas, and managing the disposal of trash and recyclable materials. Safety compliance is a key priority, including preventing unauthorized access to secure areas and safely handling cleaning equipment. The role requires a positive yet firm demeanor when interacting with patients and residents and flexibility to assist in additional cleaning duties as directed. Scheduled shifts are available on 1st or 2nd shift, with a requirement to work every fourth weekend including holidays. A valid driver’s license, maintained throughout employment, is required.
This position is tailored for those interested in contributing to healthcare in a supportive, behind-the-scenes capacity within a respected behavioral health environment. It offers opportunities for professional development and participation in team-based projects aimed at enhancing facility operations. Rogers Behavioral Health values education and training; thus, this role encourages continuing education and knowledge of specialized cleaning equipment and procedures to maintain the highest standards. Experience in mental health settings and prior hospital cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory. The organization provides a competitive Total Rewards benefits package reflecting its commitment to employee well-being and career growth.
