Job Description

MBK Senior Living is a renowned senior living company dedicated to creating exceptional living environments that prioritize resident well-being and team member satisfaction. Established with over three decades of experience, MBK Senior Living operates 35 communities across the Western United States, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services. The company has earned notable recognition, including being ranked among the Top 50 "Best Workplaces in Aging Services" by Fortune magazine and receiving certification as a "Great Place to Work" by the Great Place to Work Institute since 2017. MBK Senior Living's core philosophy, inspired by the Japanese concept of Yoi Shigoto which translates to "good, quality work," emphasizes trust, high standards, and personal development, fostering a supportive and enriching environment for both residents and employees.

The Housekeeper position at MBK Senior Living plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, guests, and staff. This role involves meticulous cleaning of resident apartments, public areas, and workspaces to ensure the community meets company and regulatory standards. The Housekeeper is responsible for executing cleaning and sanitation tasks with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous waste and chemicals. Working closely under the direction of senior management such as the Executive Director or Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeper contributes significantly to the community's overall quality and resident satisfaction.

This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.50 to $18.00 and follows a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The job promises opportunities for professional growth with comprehensive training through mentoring programs and access to educational resources like loan assistance and scholarships. Employees enjoy a friendly, energetic work atmosphere rooted in hospitality and high-quality service, alongside a variety of rich benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) matching, childcare and eldercare assistance, and flexible spending accounts.

Beyond routine housekeeping, the role demands compassionate resident service, where the housekeeper is expected to engage warmly with residents, respond politely to their requests, and report any issues promptly. The position includes responsibilities like laundry service for residents, maintaining operational readiness of workspaces, and supporting regulatory compliance by meeting federal, state, and local guidelines related to sanitation and safety. Physical demands are substantial, involving prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting weights up to 50 pounds, and pushing carts up to 250 pounds, requiring candidates to be physically capable and willing to operate within a dynamic team environment.

MBK Senior Living welcomes all applicants and is committed to equal employment opportunity, emphasizing a diverse and inclusive workplace. The company also requires compliance with applicable regulations related to licensing, health screenings, and background clearance to uphold care standards. This role not only suits individuals seeking meaningful employment impacting senior lives but also those desiring career advancement within the senior living industry. Candidates who exhibit a strong work ethic, organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine compassion for the elderly will find this role highly rewarding and aligned with MBK’s mission to be the provider of choice in senior living communities.
