Job Requirements
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Knowledge of hard surface (resilient floor) care is a plus but not required
- Valid Florida Driver’s license
- Ability to lift and/or carry 25 to 45 pounds
- Good physical and mental health
- Ability to move continuously during work hours
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Job Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prepare and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public
- Previous housekeeping experience highly preferred
- Knowledge of hard surface (resilient floor) care is a plus
- Valid Florida Driver’s license
Job Duties
- Operate mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums
- Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning, and replacement of equipment and furnishings
- Clean damp, dusty, and dirty areas including human waste and other body fluids
- Dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials
- Handle cleaning solvents, chemicals while complying with OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department regulations
- Follow job assignments accurately
- Damp dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, and other surfaces
- Empty trash containers daily
- Wet mop floors in rooms and bathrooms, damp mop corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and others daily
- Clean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, and showers
- Clean all air vents
- Report needed repairs such as leaky faucets, loose tiles, broken windowpanes to supervisor
- Wash windows as scheduled
- Check entire area periodically for spills and water
- Follow instructions on the use of germicidal solutions and cleaning procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
