Cedarhurst Senior Living stands as a premier provider of senior living communities, renowned for its dedication to enriching the lives of residents through exceptional care and personalized services. With a strong commitment to excellence and innovation, Cedarhurst creates vibrant, supportive environments where seniors can thrive, find comfort, and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle. As a reputable leader in the senior living industry, Cedarhurst continually emphasizes the importance of compassionate care, respect for individuality, and a proactive approach to senior wellness. Their communities are designed to not only meet the physical needs of residents but also to provide social, emotional, and recreational opportunities that encourage active engagement and a high quality of life.
At Cedarhurst, employees are viewed as the heart and strength of the organization. The company fosters a workplace culture built on core values such as passion, trustworthiness, empathy, positivity, respect, and approachability. Every team member is empowered to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents daily. Cedarhurst invests heavily in its workforce through comprehensive training programs and promotes avenues for both professional development and personal growth. This investment underscores the company's commitment to internal advancement and career-building opportunities.
The Housekeeper role at Cedarhurst Senior Living is integral to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the community. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Director, the Housekeeper ensures that resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, offices, and linens are kept in pristine condition according to established policies, procedures, and schedules. This role is crucial in supporting a healthy and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike.
Key responsibilities include performing thorough cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, managing laundry services, and removing trash. The Housekeeper operates on a structured cleaning schedule to maintain high standards in all assigned areas, contributing significantly to the daily function and appearance of the community. In addition to cleaning duties, the Housekeeper is responsible for laundering soiled linens in adherence to strict health and hygiene regulations, folding and distributing clean laundry, and restocking necessary supplies.
Coordination with maintenance staff is an essential aspect of this role, with the Housekeeper expected to report any repair needs identified during cleaning duties. Effective communication with community staff and residents' families about residents' physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing forms a vital part of the job. The Housekeeper also plays a role in conflict intervention and resolution, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with management and other team members to promote a supportive community atmosphere.
Safety and health protocols are rigorously followed, including the use of personal protective equipment when necessary. The position requires physical endurance such as walking or standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting heavy weights up to 50 pounds independently, or 200 pounds with assistance. The Housekeeper’s contribution is valued not only in operational excellence but also in fostering teamwork, unity, and morale within the staff. Cedarhurst encourages ongoing education and self-improvement, expecting employees to engage actively in training initiatives to enhance their skills continuously.
Cedarhurst is an Equal Opportunity Employer dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities, aligning with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Employment offers are contingent upon successful background checks, drug screenings, health assessments, and compliance with company health and safety standards. Joining Cedarhurst means becoming part of a compassionate community committed to enriching the lives of seniors while supporting employees with comprehensive benefits and meaningful career opportunities.
