Job Description

Deer Valley Medical Center is a vital part of the HonorHealth system, one of Arizona's largest nonprofit healthcare providers known for its commitment to excellence in patient care, innovative practices, and community health. Located in the greater Phoenix area, Deer Valley Medical Center operates as a comprehensive healthcare facility offering a wide range of medical services across various specialties. As a key member hospital in the HonorHealth network, it emphasizes a culture of warmth, neighborly kindness, and professional dedication that dates back to its origins in 1927. The hospital aims to provide high-quality healthcare in a supportive and compassionate environment that promotes the well-being and recovery of its patients.

The Environmental Service Associate role at Deer Valley Medical Center is a full-time evening shift position, scheduled from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall environment of the patient care units to ensure patient comfort and safety. The position offers a new hire sign-on bonus of up to $2500, reflecting the value placed on attracting dedicated professionals to the team. Working within the Environmental Services Department under the waste management category, the Environmental Service Associate is responsible for a wide range of housekeeping and support functions vital to the daily operations of the hospital.

The Environmental Service Associate plays an essential role in the health care delivery process by upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in patient rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and equipment. This position requires meticulous attention to detail when performing cleaning tasks, adherence to sanitation protocols, and a compassionate approach that maintains patient dignity at all times. The associate will manage waste disposal, including hazardous and infectious materials, in strict compliance with hospital policies and safety procedures.

Part of the job involves executing patient room cleaning during room checkout, conducting patient room rounds both in the morning and evening to ensure environments are tidy and conducive to healing, and responding promptly to patient requests for housekeeping services. The role further includes stocking linens and supplies, sanitizing equipment, maintaining clean and clutter-free corridors, and monitoring patient safety through regular rounding, alerting nursing staff if any issues are observed.

This role demands effective chemical mixing and use, understanding of proper dilution rates, and vigilant maintenance and operation of cleaning equipment. The Environmental Service Associate must ensure that all cleaning processes are performed without causing damage to surfaces or medical equipment, adhering to all inspection standards. In sum, this position is a cornerstone in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that supports the hospital's mission of providing exceptional patient care.

HonorHealth, and by extension Deer Valley Medical Center, prides itself on fostering a professional yet compassionate workforce, committed to excellence and community service. Becoming part of this team means contributing to a culture that values respect, patient dignity, and continuous improvement in healthcare service delivery. The Environmental Service Associate role is ideal for individuals seeking a rewarding healthcare support position with opportunities for growth and development within a stable and respected healthcare system in Phoenix.
