Job Requirements
- Other or certificate less than high school required
- 6 months experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license preferred for positions requiring driving HonorHealth vehicles
- Must be at least 21 years old to drive HonorHealth vehicles
- Must provide a current and valid Arizona driver’s license
- Motor Vehicle Report required and reviewed by Human Resources
- Completion of HonorHealth Defensive Driving Course if driving is involved
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and safety procedures
- Effective communication skills and ability to respond to patient requests
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Basic knowledge of chemical handling and safety
- Compassionate and professional demeanor
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of patient care areas following established procedures and sanitation protocols
- Execute checkout room cleaning per department guidelines and dispose of hazardous and infectious waste in compliance with protocols
- Perform morning and evening patient room rounds to inspect rooms, remove clutter, empty trash, and refresh bathrooms
- Respond to patient service requests for housekeeping services and hospitality support
- Clean common area spaces and waiting areas on the patient care unit and stock linen and housekeeping supplies
- Clean and sanitize medical equipment as assigned and stage equipment for pickup
- Monitor corridors to keep them free from clutter
- Participate in patient safety rounding, monitoring patients for signs of distress and alerting nursing personnel when intervention is required
- Mix and use cleaning chemicals according to directions ensuring proper dilution and no damage to surfaces
- Operate, maintain, and repair equipment used by the department ensuring cleanliness and working order
- Perform other duties as assigned
