The Housekeeper role at Hoosier Village is a vital position integral to maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the living spaces and common areas. The housekeeper supports the residents’ well-being by providing a clean and sanitary environment that promotes health and happiness. Within this role, staff members are entrusted to clean a variety of spaces including resident rooms, apartments, bathing areas, lounges, offices, hallways, dining areas, recreational spaces, and public bathrooms. The role demands high attention to detail to meet the community’s established cleanliness standards and infection control procedures.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required
- physically capable of performing cleaning duties including bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling
- ability to safely lift or move up to 25 pounds
- dependable and punctual
- ability to follow written cleaning procedures and schedules
- strong attention to detail
- willingness to learn and adapt
- ability to maintain resident confidentiality

Job Duties
- Cleans resident rooms and apartments, bathing areas, lounges, offices, hallways, dining areas, recreational areas, public bathrooms, and other rooms as assigned and in compliance with established written procedures
- accomplish all work in the order of priority set by supervisor
- cleans and mops tile floors, vacuums, spot cleans carpeted areas and empties trash
- dusts and/or washes furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- maintains resident confidentiality
- cleans and sanitizes lavatories and toilet bowls inside and out
- performs and follows written cleaning procedures and schedules for common areas, resident apartments, and health center rooms
- keeps all equipment and storage areas clean and orderly
- transports linens and other equipment
- follows all written infection control procedures established by the community and performs other related duties as assigned
