The Housekeeper role at Active Wellness Center plays a critical part in upholding the facility's cleanliness and hygiene standards across various areas including the fitness floor, locker rooms, common areas, aquatic center, and offices. This position is hourly paid, with wages ranging from $18 to $20 per hour depending on factors such as location, specialty, certifications, and work experience. Housekeepers work directly under the supervision of the Housekeeping Lead and contribute to creating a spotless and safe environment that enhances the overall member experience.
This role demands a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about customer service and maintaining a pristine environment. The Housekeeper is expected to perform a variety of cleaning duties efficiently and thoroughly while also being responsive to the dynamic needs of the fitness center. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in locker rooms, ensuring fitness equipment is hygienic, and keeping fresh towels and consumables well stocked. Additionally, the Housekeeper must be proactive in reporting broken equipment or facility issues, managing housekeeping tools, and even providing emergency care to members and guests when necessary.
Successful candidates will have at least three months of housekeeping or janitorial experience along with some customer service background, ideally within hospitality or health clubs. Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy are essential, along with certifications in AED, CPR, and First Aid to ensure preparedness in emergency situations. The job requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs, abiding by OSHA standards and safety protocols to guarantee the well-being of all individuals on-site.

Job Duties
- Keep locker rooms spotless and neat at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of fitness equipment
- Keep fresh towels and consumables stocked
- Respond to special housekeeping needs as requested by GM/Housekeeping lead or other department managers
- Use housekeeping equipment to maintain a spotless center environment
- Report to manager about broken equipment, dispensers, burned out lights
- Make sure all housekeeping equipment is in good working order
- Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance
- Work as a team with all other departments
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
