Their growth is driven by a commitment to quality care, innovative service approaches, and fostering an environment where both residents and employees thrive. The company fosters a culture of respect, inclusivity, and continuous learning, where every team member is valued for their contributions and encouraged to grow professionally.
This particular opportunity at Milestone is for a Housekeeper who will be an essential part of maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of their assisted living and memory care communities. The Housekeeper role is focused on performing thorough housekeeping and laundry duties that ensure residents’ personal and shared spaces are clean, orderly, and inviting. This position plays a crucial role in upholding regulatory and safety standards, contributing to a safe living environment, and enhancing residents’ quality of life. The Housekeeper will routinely clean resident apartments, including bathrooms and floors, maintain linen inventories, handle laundry services, and ensure common areas such as entryways, dining rooms, and activity spaces are well-maintained.
Additionally, the role requires careful attention to floor care through sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets to maintain pristine and hygienic surroundings. Public restrooms and other shared surfaces must be sanitized correctly to eliminate dirt, grease, and water marks. Safe handling and proper use of cleaning supplies are a must, alongside active participation in training and in-service education to stay up-to-date with best practices and regulatory compliance. The Housekeeper will also respond to resident emergencies and assist with disaster management and evacuation if necessary.
Compliance with all governing rules and regulations such as HIPAA and OSHA is imperative, along with adherence to Safety Committee standards and reporting of unsafe actions or conditions. The role encourages teamwork and initiative, expecting the Housekeeper to assist colleagues beyond their assigned duties when possible. An important responsibility is the vigilance to report any elder maltreatment or abuse to the appropriate directors or state officials. Milestone values individuals who are compassionate about working with elderly populations and are committed to fostering a respectful and caring environment.
This role requires a compassionate and professional individual who is courteous and personable in their interactions with residents, staff, and vendors. The Housekeeper must hold a High School Diploma or GED and possess a valid First Aid certification. Experience in housekeeping or cleaning is preferred, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to efficiently complete assigned tasks while respecting resident privacy. Health requirements such as TB clearance must be met, along with state-required fingerprinting and background checks for employment eligibility.
Joining Milestone means becoming part of a forward-thinking company where employees receive comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage for full-time staff, 401(k) with employer match, generous paid time off, pet insurance, perks at work programs, employee assistance programs, and voluntary benefit options. Milestone is an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and is devoted to creating an inclusive environment for all team members. This Housekeeper position offers a meaningful way to contribute to the well-being of seniors while enjoying a dynamic and supportive workplace environment.
