Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Arlington/Entmt Distr is part of the renowned Marriott International portfolio, a global leader in the hospitality industry. Known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional guest services, Courtyard by Marriott is specifically designed to meet the needs of business travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and high standards during their stay. Located in the heart of Arlington, Texas, this property caters to both leisure and business guests and is dedicated to maintaining an environment that fosters growth, inclusivity, and excellence. Marriott International emphasizes a culture where diversity, innovation, and teamwork thrive to create memorable experiences for guests and rewarding opportunities for associates.
The role of a General Cleaner on the Evening Shift at Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Arlington entails a comprehensive approach to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the hotel's guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas. This full-time, non-management position demands both attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Responsibilities include scheduled preventative maintenance tasks such as inspecting mattresses, flipping box springs, assembling bed frames, vacuuming furniture areas, spot cleaning carpets and upholstery, dusting, performing touch-up painting and furniture repairs, replacing light fixtures, and ensuring all room hardware and appliances are functioning correctly.
The General Cleaner is expected to undertake general cleaning duties across all guestroom surfaces including tubs, wall tiles, hard floors, window panes, and mirrors, as well as carry out necessary repairs like tightening toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching wall holes. This role requires strong observation skills to report serious maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards promptly to the management team. Adherence to Marriott's rigorous safety and security protocols is critical, as is maintaining a professional appearance and respecting the confidentiality of proprietary information.
Beyond technical tasks, the successful candidate functions as an ambassador for the brand, welcoming guests warmly and anticipating their service needs to ensure a remarkable stay experience. The job physically demands reaching overhead and bending below the knees regularly, moving and lifting objects up to and over 50 pounds in some cases, and standing or walking extensively during shifts. The position encourages teamwork, striving for quality standards, and embracing a culture of continuous improvement.
Courtyard by Marriott values associates with a passion for hospitality who enjoy working as part of a motivated team, are eager to learn and grow, and are committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences with enthusiasm. The hotel fosters an inclusive work environment where every team member is empowered to be their best, make meaningful contributions, and build a fulfilling career. Joining Courtyard means becoming part of a globally respected brand with opportunities to develop professionally within the Marriott International family, known for its comprehensive training, career development pathways, and dedication to associate well-being.
