Job Description
Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta Buckhead is part of Marriott International, a global leader in the hospitality industry known for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Residence Inn focuses on providing comfortable, home-like accommodations for guests on extended stays, featuring spacious suites with fully equipped kitchens and modern amenities. The Atlanta Buckhead location merges this commitment with the vibrant energy of the Buckhead district, offering guests a peaceful but convenient home base amid a thriving business and entertainment district. This property is dedicated to exceptional customer service, reflecting the broader values of Marriott International, including a diverse, inclusive workplace and strong emphasis on employee growth and wellbeing.
The role available at Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta Buckhead is a full-time, non-management position within the Engineering & Facilities department. It is designed for an individual who is comfortable working primarily outdoors—approximately 90% of each shift—and can adapt to performing tasks in various weather conditions. The role offers a pay rate of $18.00 per hour and includes a flexible shift schedule, which is preferred. This position focuses on preventive maintenance tasks throughout guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces to ensure all facilities are safe, efficient, and visually appealing.
Primary responsibilities involve inspecting and repairing mattresses, bed frames, lighting fixtures, and appliances to maintain a high standard of comfort and functionality for guests. Duties include cleaning tasks such as vacuuming under furniture, spot cleaning carpets and upholstery, dusting, retouching paint and furniture, and inspecting tiled and grouted surfaces for damage. Minor repairs like tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and filling wall holes are also key parts of the job. Regular communication with management about significant maintenance issues or safety hazards is essential to ensure swift resolution and a secure environment.
The role requires adherence to Marriott's comprehensive safety policies and procedures, including attending safety trainings and maintaining certifications. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance, uphold confidentiality, and protect company assets. The guest experience is paramount, so staff are trained to recognize and anticipate guest needs, ensuring courteous and efficient service standards at all times. This role integrates with a broader team focused on maintaining the high-quality standards that Marriott guests expect, fostering positive work relationships and supporting team goals.
In addition, employees are expected to engage in physical activity such as bending, stretching, pushing, and lifting up to 50 pounds independently and assisting with heavier loads. They must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods, maintaining endurance across entire shifts. Residence Inn by Marriott places emphasis on teamwork, cultural inclusion, and promoting personal and professional growth among employees. Working here means joining a global brand where your work is valued, your career purpose is supported, and you become part of an inspiring and diverse international team committed to excellence.
