Job Description
SpringHill Suites by Marriott St. Louis Brentwood, located at 1231 Strassner Dr, Brentwood, Missouri, is part of Marriott International's renowned portfolio of brands that offer upscale yet relaxed atmospheres tailored to both leisure and business travelers. Each room at SpringHill Suites is a spacious suite designed to provide guests with ample space to unwind, separating work and rest for business travelers and offering families comfortable accommodations. The property also features complimentary breakfast, pools at most locations, and a market offering wine and beer, making it an attractive choice for a wide range of guests. Marriott International is a global leader in hospitality, known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences, diversity, and inclusion. The company actively fosters a welcoming environment where associates from all backgrounds are valued and celebrated, ensuring equal opportunity and non-discrimination practices in its hiring and employment policies.
The Guest Environment Expert role at SpringHill Suites by Marriott St. Louis Brentwood is a full-time, non-management position that plays a pivotal role in delivering memorable and unique guest experiences through superior housekeeping services. Unlike a basic janitorial role, this position goes beyond cleaning and bed-making to encompass a wide array of housekeeping functions aimed at maintaining the hotel’s pristine appearance and functionality. Guest Environment Experts are entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that every corner of the hotel reflects Marriott’s high standards—this includes guest rooms, public spaces, and operational areas.
These experts are empowered to take initiative and move freely within their work area to address cleaning and maintenance needs as they arise. Their duties include delivering guest requests promptly, stocking housekeeping carts to ensure operational efficiency, and keeping rooms and common areas clean and welcoming. The role demands physical stamina and a hands-on approach, including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, as well as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. This physical aspect is fundamental to successfully performing the job duties that contribute to an excellent guest stay.
Professionalism is central to this role; Guest Environment Experts must adhere to company policies and procedures, maintain a safe workplace, and uphold quality standards consistently. Maintaining a professional uniform, personal appearance, and communication style is essential to foster a positive impression among guests and team members alike. The role requires a strong commitment to confidentiality and integrity while being mindful of the diverse cultural backgrounds of guests and colleagues.
The position demands open availability, with a preference for those willing to work holidays and weekends, reflecting the hospitality industry's need for continuous operation and responsiveness to guest needs. By joining Marriott International and specifically SpringHill Suites, associates become part of a global team dedicated to excellence, inclusivity, and personal development. This career opportunity is not just about performing tasks — it is about being part of a brand that encourages employees to be their best selves, begin their purpose, belong to an amazing community, and grow professionally within the hospitality industry.
