The Oak Hills Terrace Memory Care community in Tyler, TX, is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their team. This role is critical in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the environment where residents live, contributing directly to their comfort and quality of life. The position is available as part-time with weekend shifts, specifically Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 4pm, with additional opportunities to fill in during weekdays for housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.

The Housekeeper will be responsible for comprehensive housekeeping services across the community, including cleaning vacant apartments and preparing them for new residents, regularly maintaining the cleanliness of residences and common areas, and ensuring all spaces remain neat, attractive, and safe for residents, guests, and staff. Moreover, the role involves laundry tasks such as sorting, washing, folding, and delivering linens, maintaining the housekeeping cart's cleanliness, and identifying and reporting maintenance needs promptly to management.

A vital aspect of the Housekeeper's duties includes adhering to safety standards when using cleaning chemicals, with a clear understanding of emergency procedures should any issues arise. The position requires presenting oneself with professionalism and a positive attitude that reflects the organization’s philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine care for the residents’ unique needs. The Housekeeper must possess excellent communication skills to handle residents’ concerns and complaints delicately and courteously, fostering an environment of trust and respect.

Job Duties

  • Thoroughly cleans vacant apartments and readies them for occupancy
  • Assumes cleaning responsibilities for all residences and common areas on a scheduled basis
  • Keeps all areas of the community clean, neat, attractive and safe for residents, guests and team members at all times
  • Laundry of linens including sorting, washing, folding and delivery
  • Maintains housekeeping cart in a clean and orderly manner
  • Notifies the Management of maintenance needs
  • Follows safe guidelines for the use of specific chemicals, must be familiar with emergency procedures if chemicals are misused
  • Presents a professional demeanor that communicates to current and prospective residents the corporate philosophy of service, goodwill and genuine interest in the resident’s unique needs
  • Concerns and complaints with finesse and in a caring, polite and professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned
