We are currently seeking a diligent and responsible individual to join our team as a Facility Cleaner. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of our facility, directly contributing to a healthy and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff. As a Facility Cleaner at Cascadia Healthcare, you will take ownership of the appearance and hygiene standards of various areas within the facility including resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, and bathrooms. Your role will be pivotal in preventing the spread of infection by adhering to strict sanitation protocols and properly handling infectious waste. We value punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic, as these attributes are crucial for maintaining our standards of excellence.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a long-term care setting, understand infection control techniques, and possess the ability to communicate effectively with residents, their families, and facility staff. You will be expected to safely use and store cleaning solutions, manage waste disposal according to safety guidelines, and perform other tasks as assigned to support the facility’s operations. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred
  • compliance with state-specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients or residents
  • ability to safely mix and use cleaning chemicals
  • punctuality and reliability
  • basic reading and writing skills

Job Qualifications

  • ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job
  • ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members and facility staff
  • knowledge of infection control techniques
  • ability to be patient and polite

Job Duties

  • cleans and sanitizes resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms and other areas of the facility
  • safely mixes and uses cleaning solutions and stores in a secure area
  • labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers
  • ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts
  • performs other tasks as assigned
  • conducts job responsibilities in accordance with company policies, federal and state laws and professional standards
