Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of housekeeping experience preferred
  • Must satisfy all state health licensure certification and background requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing walking bending stooping kneeling crouching climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • May require basic computer skills for training
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including 4 hour shifts
  • Must be able to work in a potentially biologically hazardous environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of housekeeping experience strongly preferred
  • Assisted living or long-term care facility experience preferred
  • Ability to receive and carry out verbal or written instructions
  • Effective communication in person over the phone or via email
  • Ability to perform repetitive work according to set procedures with frequent distractions
  • Ability to recognize problems and escalate when necessary
  • May require proficiency with computer use for training or assigned tasks

Job Duties

  • Efficiently and effectively clean resident apartments including garbage disposal sweeping vacuuming mopping disinfecting surfaces changing linens managing laundry
  • Assist with resident transfer to another room during apartment cleaning
  • Efficiently and effectively clean restrooms and other common areas of the community
  • Ensure chemicals are marked appropriately and locked away when not in use
  • Lead Housekeeper leads and guides other housekeepers and is responsible for quality control
  • Practice basic infection control with linens hand washing and resident care
  • Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled by Executive Director
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident community employee and company information
  • Maintain working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and responsibilities under emergency conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
