The Housekeeper position at English Oaks Convalescent and Rehab plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall atmosphere of the facility. This role offers flexible shifts between housekeeping and laundry duties, with two main schedules available from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $18.00, reflecting the importance of this role within the facility. The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that all assigned areas, including resident living spaces and recreational areas, are kept clean, safe, and comfortable in compliance with federal, state, and local standards and guidelines. This includes coordinating closely with nursing services to minimize disruption during cleaning and to maintain a hygienic environment conducive to resident health and well-being.
Key responsibilities include adhering to prescribed safety precautions, utilizing cleaning supplies and equipment properly, and ensuring hazardous objects are removed from work areas. The Housekeeper must be proficient in mixing and using chemicals, disinfectants, and cleaning solutions according to manufacturer instructions to maintain sanitation standards. This role involves routine inspections for orderliness, safety, and proper sanitation in resident rooms and other areas, thereby helping to uphold the overall quality of care for the residents.

Job Duties
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and recreational areas
- follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies
- ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner
- keep work assignment areas free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc
- follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning
- perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties
- maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and housekeeping areas
