The role available is that of a facility custodian responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the healthcare facility. This position plays a critical part in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff members. The custodian is entrusted with the upkeep of resident rooms, common areas such as hallways and dining zones, as well as bathrooms and other designated facility spaces. The job requires attention to detail, responsibility, and an understanding of infection control protocols, especially relevant in healthcare settings. The custodian must handle cleaning solutions safely and ensure that infectious waste is properly labeled and removed according to regulations. Punctuality and regular attendance are essential to ensure that the facility remains consistently clean and safe for all occupants.
This custodial role is integral to supporting the health and comfort of residents, significantly contributing to the overall quality of care provided by Cascadia Healthcare. Beyond routine cleaning, the custodian serves as a frontline defense against infection and contamination within the facility. The position offers an opportunity to be part of a meaningful care environment where diligence and care directly impact the lives of others. Employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with Cascadia Healthcare’s Code of Business Conduct, policies, and applicable laws. Adherence to professional standards and respectful communication with residents, their families, and facility staff are critical to success in this position. While no certification is required, prior experience in a long-term care setting is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent education is desired. Clearances through state-specific background checks are mandatory before beginning work, ensuring safety and compliance throughout the organization.
