The role of Housekeeper at Day Brook Village Nursing & Rehab Center is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. As a vital member of the support services team, the housekeeper contributes substantially to the overall comfort and aesthetics of the facility by performing a variety of custodial duties. This position supports the health care mission by ensuring sanitary conditions in patient and public areas, which directly impacts the well-being and satisfaction of residents. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Ability to follow safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals properly
- Basic understanding of sanitation standards
- Reliable and punctual
- Good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a healthcare or similar setting preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Basic communication skills

- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and evenings
Job Duties
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
- Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units in resident and recreational areas
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures ensuring water marks are removed
- Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, entrances and exits
- Clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting
- Set up appropriate caution/safety signs prior to performing duties
- Clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing
- Remove dirt, dust, grease and film from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
- Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
- Discard waste and trash properly and reline trash receptacles
- Clean vacant rooms as assigned
