The Housekeeper’s duties encompass a wide range of cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the community. This includes cleaning and polishing furnishings, fixtures, and living spaces, washing and sanitizing bathroom fixtures, performing floor care such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing, carpet cleaning through vacuuming and shampooing, and cleaning walls, ceilings, and hallways as needed. Additionally, Housekeepers are responsible for the proper disposal of waste and trash, ensuring that all areas remain neat and free of debris. The position requires the use of appropriate cleaning and disinfecting solutions to ensure that all surfaces are free from dirt, dust, grease, and germs.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping in a healthcare setting is a plus

Job Duties

  • Cleans and polishes furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in residents' rooms and the community's living/recreational areas as instructed
  • cleans, washes, sanitizes and/or polishes bathroom fixtures and ensures that all water marks are removed from fixtures
  • cleans floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting as instructed and always ensures that caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties
  • cleans carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting as instructed
  • cleans walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing as instructed
  • removes dirt, dust, grease, film etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
  • cleans hallways as necessary or instructed
  • disposes of waste/trash into proper containers and re-lines trash receptacles with plastic liners
