The Housekeeper role at Arch Amenities Group’s fitness department is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to a wellness-driven and hospitality-focused environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager and Fitness Director, the Housekeeper plays a vital role in creating an outstanding member experience by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the facility. This non-exempt position centers around ensuring the fitness center remains a welcoming, safe, and hygienic environment conducive to effective workouts and member satisfaction. The Housekeeper’s duties include cleaning and dusting all areas, keeping exercise equipment sanitized, managing laundry tasks such as washing and folding towels, and actively engaging members during their visits to assist and promote a comfortable atmosphere. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong work ethics, and the ability to work both independently and as part of the team. Furthermore, familiarity with the proper use of cleaning chemicals and adherence to operational guidelines are essential to ensure all maintenance activities meet Arch’s high standards.

Beyond the operational tasks, this role also entails ownership of assigned responsibilities, attending department meetings, and maintaining flexibility to adapt the cleaning schedule according to changing daily needs. The ideal candidate will be creative in methods to enhance efficiency, reliable in punctuality, and physically capable of meeting the job’s demands such as lifting, moving furniture, and completing active cleaning duties. Experience in cleaning environments, particularly in health or fitness clubs, is highly preferred.   • Ability to engage physical requirements of the position including lifting and carrying laundry baskets and shifting furniture
  • Must understand proper use of cleaning chemicals
  • Must be punctual and have a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be creative and inventive to improve efficiency
  • Preferred experience in health club cleaning

Job Duties

  • Provide superior service experience for members and guests
  • Follow schedule/checklist as closely as possible, but stays flexible to variances
  • Record the times that tasks are completed
  • Clean, dust, and mop entire facility, including exercise equipment
  • Manage laundry facilities, includes washing, drying, and folding towels
  • Take ownership of areas of responsibility, including clean-up and maintenance of equipment
  • Attend department meetings as scheduled
  • Use appropriate chemicals approved and designated for use within location
  • Other duties as assigned
