The Housekeeper plays a vital role within this senior living community by ensuring that the environment remains clean, safe, and inviting for residents, visitors, and staff. Reporting to the Maintenance or Executive Director, the Housekeeping Associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards in assigned areas, including resident rooms and public spaces. This is an hourly position that supports the organization's mission by directly impacting the comfort and happiness of residents through meticulous cleaning and upkeep. The role requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. The housekeeper is also involved in setting up activity rooms and occasionally moving furniture, contributing to the smooth operation of community events.
In addition to maintaining cleanliness, the Housekeeping Associate attends regular training courses to stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements. Training is provided through the organization's Learning Management System, ensuring compliance and ongoing personal development. Job Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required
- general knowledge of housekeeping
- ability to use all required equipment
- excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and time management
- ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and vendors
- must work well within a team as well as independently
- ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- must have strong understanding of the English language sufficient to read and write
Job Duties
- Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision
- cleans and maintains assigned areas including public areas and resident rooms
- cleans restrooms including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories, and fixtures in apartments and common areas
- vacuums carpeted areas and mops tile floors
- spot cleans walls and windows
- dusts furniture and empties trashcans
- cleans baseboards, pictures, lights, and HVAC vents
- assists with activity room set-ups, which could require movement of furniture
- attends training courses at community and maintains up to date monthly, quarterly, annual training through designated Learning Management System
- attend all required all staff meetings
- other duties as assigned and which relate to the success of the community and the care, comfort, and happiness of our residents
