Operating as a federal contractor, DAWSON maintains strict adherence to safety, security, and regulatory standards. The company’s work environment promotes diversity, equal opportunity, and professional growth, ensuring that employees are supported in their roles while contributing meaningfully to organizational success. With a commitment to delivering best-in-class services and fostering a culture of respect and integrity, DAWSON stands as a trusted partner and employer in its service sectors.

This full-time Housekeeper position, based in Charleston, SC, is primarily responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) dormitories. This role supports a safe and welcoming environment for both students and staff by ensuring that all rooms, restrooms, and common areas meet hygiene and cleanliness standards. Housekeepers at DAWSON perform routine cleaning duties including changing bed linens, restocking toiletries, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces. Attention to detail and adherence to company protocols are essential for maintaining high standards.

The position includes preparing dormitory rooms for incoming students and thoroughly cleaning rooms after students depart. Housekeepers also manage supply carts, follow assigned cleaning routes, and maintain accurate reports to supervisors. Full-time employees are expected to clean over 20 rooms daily, with flexible hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Work schedules may be adjusted based on dormitory forecast needs or emergency turnovers, requiring adaptability.

This job requires physical stamina as housekeepers must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks that involve bending, standing, and repetitive motions. Reliability and the ability to follow detailed instructions are vital. Additionally, employees must pass background screenings and meet all FLETC access and conduct requirements. Some responsibilities may entail operation of company-provided vehicles, where applicable, under strict adherence to safety policies and licensing conditions.

DAWSON offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.75 and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) plan with an employer match; paid vacation and sick leave; employer-paid life and AD&D insurance; and an Employee Assistance Program. Employees also have access to several voluntary benefits such as critical illness coverage, accident insurance, identity theft protection, and pet insurance, enhancing overall job satisfaction and security.

As an equal opportunity, affirmative action, and VEVRAA federal contractor, DAWSON is committed to diversity and inclusivity in its hiring practices, giving preference to internal candidates while considering qualified external applicants. The company maintains transparent and secure recruitment procedures through its official career portal and communication channels, ensuring applicant safety and integrity throughout the hiring process.
