Currently, ISL is looking to expand its dedicated team by hiring a Housekeeper to join one of its communities. The Housekeeper position is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and overall environment of the community, ensuring that residents enjoy a safe, sanitary, and pleasant living space. This role involves performing scheduled cleaning duties in various areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices. The Housekeeper will be responsible for sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing lavatories, and ensuring that communal spaces meet the highest standards of hygiene. The position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a caring attitude toward senior residents.
The Housekeeper also manages the laundry operations within the community, ensuring that linens and laundry items are processed efficiently and the commercial laundry area is kept clean and orderly. Safety is a critical aspect of the role, with responsibilities that include proper storage of cleaning chemicals, adherence to fire code compliance while managing equipment and supplies, and promptly reporting any maintenance or equipment needs to the lead housekeeper. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands and arms regularly
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently
- Ability to sit occasionally
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with specific vision abilities including close and color vision
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Performs cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices
- Sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways
- spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners
- Rotates runners in hallways and entryways
- Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities
- Stocks dispensers as necessary
- Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
- Maintains equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition
- Collects trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas
- Responsible for collecting, cleaning and redistributing the community laundry
- Maintains the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition
- Ensures cleaning chemicals are kept stored and locked when not in use
- Ensures any cords, carts, equipment and other hazards are kept out of the way at all times, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes
- Reports any needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper
- Other duties as assigned
