The Hospital located at 1100 Central Avenue SE in Albuquerque, NM, is currently seeking to hire a Housekeeper for a full-time role during daytime shifts. The compensation for this position ranges from $15.55 to $20.40 per hour, reflecting the organization’s commitment to fair and competitive pay.
As a Housekeeper at Presbyterian Hospital, your role is vital in maintaining a sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility. You will be responsible for cleaning and servicing all areas within the hospital, including patient rooms, clinical spaces, hallways, and public areas, ensuring these spaces meet high standards of hygiene to reduce infection risks and support safe, high-quality care. This entails tasks such as dusting furniture and equipment, mopping and polishing floors, operating mechanical cleaning equipment, and properly handling waste and soiled linens in accordance with established procedures. The position also involves preparing patient rooms for new occupants, including following specific isolation protocols when necessary.
The housekeeper role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning, as participation in educational programs and in-service meetings is expected. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- minimum of six months experience in housekeeping or cleaning role
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
- strong attention to detail
- good communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education
- less than one year experience in housekeeping
Job Duties
- Dust furniture, woodwork, equipment
- mop floors
- polish and clean fixtures
- wet mop rooms, halls, stairways and public areas
- operate housekeeping mechanical equipment
- move furniture for cleaning
- buff, strip, wax and polish floors
- remove waste and soiled linens following proper procedures
- perform cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepare for next occupant
- follow isolation procedures in isolation rooms
- participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
