Job Description
Equity LifeStyle Properties (ELS) is a leading real estate investment trust that specializes in owning and operating high-quality, unique resorts, manufactured home communities, and RV resorts across North America. ELS is known for its culture of recognition and a strong reputation for excellence, making it an ideal organization for individuals seeking to build a long and successful career within the resort and hospitality industry. ELS is committed to delivering exceptional experiences to guests by maintaining clean, welcoming, and well-managed communities that guests are eager to return to time after time.
ELS is currently hiring for the position of Housekeeper at its resort location in Morgan Hill, California. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all resorts and communities maintain their high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. The Housekeeper position is a key member of the team responsible for providing a welcoming and pristine environment, which is essential to creating a five-star guest experience.
In your role as a Housekeeper, your responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness in resort offices, clubhouses, public access areas, and model units through tasks such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal. You will also be responsible for preparing cabins and rental units for new guests by ensuring they are spotless and ready for occupancy. Keeping all rentals and common areas clean and up to the company’s high standards is critical to reflecting ELS’s commitment to quality.
Additionally, you will be expected to monitor cleaning supply inventories and request refills to ensure that all cleaning operations run smoothly. Reporting any maintenance issues you observe in common areas, vacant units, or rentals to the Resort Manager or Maintenance Supervisor will help ensure prompt resolution and continued guest satisfaction. Housekeepers also assist maintenance staff and other team members as needed, highlighting the collaborative nature of the workplace.
Your role may occasionally involve supporting resort-sponsored guest activities by assisting with cleanup efforts, providing outstanding customer service, and addressing guest inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Problem-solving guest-related issues with a positive and patient attitude is an important part of your duties, as is maintaining open communication with management and contributing to an integrated and coordinated resort team.
The position may also require driving a motorized vehicle to run errands or pick up necessary supplies, provided you hold a valid driver's license and meet the company’s driving record and insurance requirements. ELS values employees who are detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining the quality and reputation of their properties.
In return for your skills and dedication, ELS offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a generous 401(k) employer match, as well as paid vacation, holidays, and sick time. The position is hourly with a wage estimated at $17.50/hour, although total compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location. ELS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming applicants of diverse backgrounds to join their team.
Working as a Housekeeper at ELS means becoming part of a recognized and respected hospitality company where your efforts directly contribute to creating memorable resort experiences. This role provides an excellent opportunity to grow your career in the hospitality industry while enjoying supportive management, a positive culture, and an attractive benefits package.
