Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing, reaching and carrying
- effective communication skills in written and oral form
- ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- availability to work Monday through Friday for full-time role
- flexibility to work temporary or on-call shifts for PRN role
Job Qualifications
- a passion for helping seniors
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral form in a care setting with residents, families and staff
- must be able to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, reach and carry, stand for extended periods of time
- able to respond productively and handle additional tasks or projects as assigned
- ability to detect odors and see spots and spills
- ability to move housekeeping cart with cleaning equipment
Job Duties
- adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality and a home-like environment for residents
- monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks
- communicates chemical, supply and equipment needs to executive director
- maintains required records
- uses maintenance request log appropriately
- familiarizes self with cleaning schedules of residents' apartments and common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks
- performs housekeeping, janitorial tasks and minor repairs as assigned
