As part of its continued growth and commitment to quality service, Lakeview of Kirkland is currently seeking to hire both a Full-Time Housekeeper and a Temporary/PRN Housekeeper. These positions are integral to maintaining the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the community, ensuring residents enjoy a hygienic and pleasant living environment. The Full-Time role follows a Monday through Friday schedule, offering consistency and stability, while the PRN role is temporary and on an as-needed basis, providing flexibility for those seeking part-time or interim work.

The Housekeeper role at Lakeview of Kirkland involves a wide range of duties focused on housekeeping and laundry tasks throughout the community. This includes cleaning residents' apartments and common areas, performing minor repairs, and ensuring that janitorial and maintenance issues are promptly reported and addressed. Housekeepers must adhere to strict infection control procedures and safety protocols, reinforcing the community's commitment to residents’ health and wellbeing.

In addition to general housekeeping, the role requires careful monitoring of inventory for cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment. Effective communication with the Executive Director regarding needs and maintenance requests is critical. Attention to detail is paramount, as housekeepers are responsible for observing and reporting changes in resident status or environmental concerns, contributing to a safe and supportive residential atmosphere.

Candidates must demonstrate physical capability to perform tasks such as climbing, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and moving furniture and cleaning carts, as this role demands a high degree of physical activity. Strong communication skills are essential to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff, ensuring all housekeeping activities meet the community's standards without disrupting the residents’ daily routines.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
  • ability to perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing, reaching and carrying
  • effective communication skills in written and oral form
  • ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • availability to work Monday through Friday for full-time role
  • flexibility to work temporary or on-call shifts for PRN role

Job Qualifications

  • a passion for helping seniors
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral form in a care setting with residents, families and staff
  • must be able to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, reach and carry, stand for extended periods of time
  • able to respond productively and handle additional tasks or projects as assigned
  • ability to detect odors and see spots and spills
  • ability to move housekeeping cart with cleaning equipment

Job Duties

  • adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality and a home-like environment for residents
  • monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks
  • communicates chemical, supply and equipment needs to executive director
  • maintains required records
  • uses maintenance request log appropriately
  • familiarizes self with cleaning schedules of residents' apartments and common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks
  • performs housekeeping, janitorial tasks and minor repairs as assigned
