Job Description

Our facility is a dedicated healthcare environment committed to providing exceptional care and comfort to our residents. We prioritize maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere, adhering strictly to federal, state, and local regulations. Our Environmental Services department plays a critical role in upholding these standards by ensuring impeccable housekeeping practices. We are currently seeking a diligent Housekeeper to join our team and contribute to the overall well-being of our residents through detailed and thorough cleaning practices.

As a Housekeeper, you will be an essential part of our Environmental Services team responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the facility. This role demands a high level of customer service and attention to detail to ensure every resident’s living space is clean, safe, and comfortable at all times. You will follow schedules and specific daily assignments to execute a variety of cleaning tasks and maintain sanitation standards. Your responsibilities will include proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, adherence to infection control protocols, and participation in ongoing safety and procedural training.

The Housekeeper will work closely with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, and Director of Environmental Services to ensure all cleanliness and safety guidelines are thoroughly followed and any issues are promptly reported. An essential part of your role includes compliance with safety policies, such as fire safety and the proper handling of hazardous materials, as well as using personal protective equipment when necessary. Your efforts directly impact residents' comfort and safety, contributing to a positive living environment in our healthcare facility.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving heavy objects
  • Willingness to participate in training programs such as OSHA and HIPAA
  • Ability to adhere to safety and infection control protocols
  • Must be able to use personal protective equipment appropriately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and proper usage
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain schedules
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
  • File complaints/grievances with your supervisor
  • Report known or suspected incidents of fraud to the Administrator
  • Attend and participate in annual facility in-service training programs as scheduled
  • Follow established fire safety policies and procedures
  • Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies
