This position is for a Housekeeper who will play a vital role in our facility by ensuring that all resident rooms, common areas, and other spaces are impeccably clean and well-maintained. The Housekeeper's role is central to creating and sustaining a hygienic environment which is critical in assisted living settings where residents' health and comfort are paramount. Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeper will be responsible for dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing bed linens, and ensuring that all public areas such as lounges and dining areas are orderly and sanitized. Attention to detail and adherence to infection control protocols are essential components of this role.

The position requires physical stamina and organizational skills as housekeeping tasks often involve repetitive motions and the handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals safely. The Housekeeper must be a dependable team player who communicates professionally with residents and colleagues, respects residents' privacy, and maintains confidentiality. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and replenishing housekeeping supplies, reporting repair needs, and occasionally moving furniture to ensure thorough cleaning. Candidates for this role must have a high school diploma or equivalent, health screenings, TB clearance, and criminal record clearance. Physical fitness is critical, as the role demands standing and walking for extended periods and lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize resident rooms including dusting vacuuming mopping and changing bed linens
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in common areas such as lounges dining areas hallways and restrooms
  • Perform regular cleaning tasks such as emptying trash bins cleaning windows and polishing surfaces
  • Follow established protocols and safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel promptly
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures to maintain a hygienic environment
  • Assist in monitoring and replenishing housekeeping supplies including toiletries towels and cleaning products
  • Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Uphold the privacy and confidentiality of residents personal belongings and information
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to resident inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • May need to move furniture to ensure cleanliness of designated areas
  • Support with additional duties as needed
