Job Requirements

One year of related experience
high school diploma or equivalent
ability to work evening shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
ability to follow safety and infection control protocols
ability to lift and move equipment and supplies
effective communication skills
reliable attendance
ability to work independently and in a team environment

Job Duties

Maintain cleaning cart in orderly condition and fully stocked with supplies
remove all waste including rubbish, cardboard, recycle paper, and hazardous material
use appropriate chemicals and tools to dust and damp disinfect floors, posting wet floor signs
empty ashtrays, wastebaskets and wipe clean, replace liners and bring trash to designated area
clean and disinfect bathrooms, replenish supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap
disinfect patient rooms and make beds for vacant rooms
thoroughly clean beds with disinfectant and make with fresh linen upon patient discharge
transport linen hampers to pickup areas and replace full linen bags
perform project work including wall washing, window washing, and cleaning waste containers
damp dust, polish and disinfect furniture and surfaces
vacuum carpets and upholstery
set up furniture and general cleaning for functions
operate heavy duty electrical cleaning equipment
collect and dispose of needle boxes properly
report equipment problems to supervisor
conduct daily inspections of assigned areas
follow infection control procedures
perform assigned crew work during shifts
may clean and sanitize operating rooms including hazardous biological waste disposal
