Job Description

White Sands is a distinguished HumanGood life plan community, also known as a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), located in the scenic and vibrant area of La Jolla, California. Operated by HumanGood, the largest nonprofit owner and operator of senior living communities in California and one of the largest nationwide, White Sands is dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment for seniors. This Housekeeper role is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the living spaces within the White Sands community to ensure a comfortable and healthy environment for residents. This is a full-time position offering shifts from Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a competitive pay range of $19 to $20.50 per hour depending on experience. In this role, the successful candidate will perform vital housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident apartments, common areas, dining spaces, and clinical areas following stringent infectious disease control policies. The Housekeeper will play a key role in upholding the community's standards for cleanliness and sanitation, which directly impacts residents' wellbeing and satisfaction.

The role demands effective communication skills, both oral and written in English, to interact courteously with residents, guests, vendors, and fellow team members. The Housekeeper is expected to conduct routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, and trash removal while maintaining an organized and well-stocked work cart. An essential part of the job includes vigilance towards safety concerns and needed repairs, which must be promptly reported to supervisors. Job Duties

  • Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests, vendors and fellow team members
  • Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in areas such as resident homes/apartments, common, dining and other areas throughout the community
  • Clean resident bathroom, kitchen, living and bedroom areas
  • Dust, clean, sweep, mop, vacuum, wash areas as appropriate
  • Empty trash, spot clean carpets
  • Maintain an organized and stocked work cart
  • Take note of safety concerns and needed repairs and report to supervisor
  • Ensure that clinical areas are sanitized in accordance with established Infectious Disease Control policies and procedures
