The Room Attendant position is a vital role responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and a welcoming atmosphere throughout guest rooms, public areas, and other designated spaces within the hotel. This role is essential in ensuring that each guest enjoys a pristine and comfortable environment, contributing significantly to guest satisfaction and positive reviews. The Room Attendant will thoroughly clean and tidy guest rooms by dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, making beds, and maintaining bathroom sanitation. Additionally, they will be responsible for surface cleaning, restocking room supplies such as toiletries and linens, trash removal, and floor care including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming in both guest rooms and common areas.
The role also entails identifying and reporting maintenance issues to ensure the upkeep of the facilities, monitoring and reporting lost and found items, and interacting professionally and courteously with guests to respond to their requests and inquiries. Maintaining guests' privacy and adhering to security protocols is a crucial aspect of this position. The ideal candidate should have previous housekeeping experience or a related background, possess attention to detail, and have knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment. They must be able to work independently and efficiently to complete assigned tasks and demonstrate strong communication skills for effective interaction with guests and team members.
This role requires physical stamina and the ability to handle tasks such as standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in environments exposed to varying temperatures, chemicals, and odors. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is also necessary. Job Duties
- clean and tidy guest rooms according to established standards including dusting vacuuming changing linens and making beds
- thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms including fixtures surfaces and amenities
- dust and wipe down furniture surfaces and decorative items in guest rooms and public areas
- refill supplies such as toiletries towels and linens in guest rooms
- empty trash bins and replace liners in guest rooms and common areas
- sweep mop and vacuum floors in guest rooms hallways and public spaces
- identify and report any maintenance or repair needs to appropriate personnel
- keep an eye out for lost items in guest rooms and public areas and report them to the supervisor
- interact professionally and courteously with guests responding to their requests and inquiries as needed
- respect guests' privacy and maintain security standards by following established procedures
