Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work 7 days per week while onboard for up to 28 weeks
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Ability to lift frequently up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Ability to frequently bend, squat, reach and use stairs
- Ability to live and work on a vessel subject to constant motion
- Ability to assist in onboard emergencies by climbing ladders and passing through 20-inch diameter hatches
- No alcohol consumption while onboard
- Must comply with Federal Laws and Department of Transportation regulations on drug testing
Job Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Pass pre-employment drug test including marijuana and other controlled substances
- Ability to comply with grooming standards regarding tattoos and piercings
- Ability to work and live onboard for up to 28 weeks
- Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and keep composure
Job Duties
- Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for our guests
- Prioritizing comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
- Acknowledge guests by name and kindly take action for all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to American Cruise Lines’ service standards
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Organizing inventory and stocking linen and supplies
- Carefully cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment and notifying managers of necessary maintenance requests
- Collecting and disposing of trash
- Properly cleaning upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
- Creating genuine relationships with our guests and catering to all housekeeping requests in an efficient manner
- Performing housekeeping duties during special events like afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
- Greeting guests upon embarkation
