Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work 7 days per week while onboard for up to 28 weeks
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Ability to lift frequently up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to frequently bend, squat, reach and use stairs
  • Ability to live and work on a vessel subject to constant motion
  • Ability to assist in onboard emergencies by climbing ladders and passing through 20-inch diameter hatches
  • No alcohol consumption while onboard
  • Must comply with Federal Laws and Department of Transportation regulations on drug testing

Job Qualifications

  • At least eighteen (18) years of age
  • American citizen or Green Card holder
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
  • Pass pre-employment drug test including marijuana and other controlled substances
  • Ability to comply with grooming standards regarding tattoos and piercings
  • Ability to work and live onboard for up to 28 weeks
  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and keep composure

Job Duties

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for our guests
  • Prioritizing comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
  • Acknowledge guests by name and kindly take action for all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to American Cruise Lines’ service standards
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Organizing inventory and stocking linen and supplies
  • Carefully cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment and notifying managers of necessary maintenance requests
  • Collecting and disposing of trash
  • Properly cleaning upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
  • Creating genuine relationships with our guests and catering to all housekeeping requests in an efficient manner
  • Performing housekeeping duties during special events like afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
  • Greeting guests upon embarkation
