Job Description
American Campus Communities (ACC) is a leading real estate investment trust specializing in the development, construction, and management of student housing communities across the United States. With a commitment to providing exceptional living experiences for college students, ACC focuses on maintaining high-quality properties that foster community, safety, and comfort. The company prides itself on its culture of inclusion, diversity, and accountability, ensuring that all employees are invested in maintaining welcoming and well-kept environments. ACC values its team members, offering opportunities for growth and career development through training and support across their different properties.
The Housekeeper position at 1200 West Marshall, Richmond, VA, plays a vital role in upholding the cleanliness and maintenance standards of this student housing community. Reporting to the Senior Service Manager, the full-time role involves ensuring that all areas of the property, including resident rooms, common spaces, amenities, and operational areas like shops and storage rooms, are cleaned to a high standard. Day-to-day tasks include vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, stocking bathrooms, and assisting in preparing apartments for new residents during turnover periods. The role contributes significantly to providing a positive living environment that enhances the residents’ overall experience.
Ideal candidates bring a keen eye for detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn about housekeeping and property upkeep. Although prior housekeeping experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory, as ACC supports ongoing training and development. The role also emphasizes adherence to safety protocols, particularly around handling cleaning chemicals, and encourages teamwork and pride in maintaining the community’s appearance. The company's culture is grounded in a shared responsibility where every employee, regardless of their position, contributes to keeping the property clean and orderly. This collective commitment supports ACC's reputation for quality student housing and community engagement.
