Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Must possess sight or hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately
  • Must function independently with flexibility and personal integrity
  • Must be able to work effectively with other personnel
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the facility including medical and physical examination
  • Must be able to operate hydraulic chairs, wheelchairs, hair dryers, curling irons, hampers, and other equipment
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry it a minimum distance of 50 feet
  • May be necessary to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Perform day-to-day housekeeping activities according to federal, state, and local standards
  • Maintain the facility in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner
  • Operate hydraulic chairs, wheelchairs, hair dryers, curling irons, and hampers
  • Push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a height of 5 feet
  • Assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations as needed
  • Follow all guidelines and directives from the Administrator or Director of Environmental Services
  • Maintain personal integrity and work effectively with other personnel
