Job Requirements

  • Experience providing housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Ability to follow all community procedures and guidelines independently
  • Competence in handling cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Ability to maintain safety standards and infection control protocols
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to respect resident privacy and work as part of a team
  • Availability to work scheduled shifts including 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Willingness to participate in required training and comply with safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding Sunrise's quality standards
  • Perform cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as resident suites, bathrooms, common areas and offices including sweeping, dusting, dust mopping, wet mopping floors, spot cleaning and vacuuming floors, rugs, carpets, and runners
  • Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture, dust desk and floor lamps, and clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills
  • Knock on resident's doors before entering and respect their privacy during the cleaning process
  • Maintain equipment and supplies needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies, including clean and soiled linen, to appropriate storage and collection areas
  • Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles and collection areas in a clean and sanitary manner
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • Sort, wash, and dry linens properly following approved laundry procedures
  • Fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
  • Inspect linens routinely for wear and tear and follow community's Standard Operating Procedure for damaged linens
  • Maintain commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests, directing feedback to supervisors or Care Managers
  • Review, note, and initial Daily Log to track resident physical and behavioral changes
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
  • Maintain equipment and supplies to prevent accidents and waste
  • Comply with all infection control techniques and safety procedures including PPE and fire safety
  • Participate as a committed team member working toward team goals and demonstrating Team Member Credo
  • Attend regular meetings and maintain compliance with required trainings as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
