Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding Sunrise's quality standards
  • perform cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as resident suites, bathrooms, common areas, and offices including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors and rugs
  • clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture, and clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills
  • knock on resident's doors before entering and respect their privacy during the cleaning process
  • knock on public restroom doors before entering and wait for a response
  • maintain equipment and supplies in clean and orderly condition
  • transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate storage and collection areas
  • collect trash and maintain trash receptacles in a clean and sanitary manner
  • collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved procedures
  • inspect linens routinely for wear and tear and manage damaged linens per community standards
  • maintain commercial laundry cleanliness and orderliness
  • assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care upon request
  • practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
  • document and review Daily Log for resident updates
  • ensure cleaning chemicals are stored securely when not in use
  • ensure hazards such as cords and equipment do not block exits and comply with fire codes
  • promote community compliance with safety regulations and risk management policies
  • practice safety procedures including PPE and lockout/tagout
  • maintain equipment to prevent waste and accidents
  • comply with infection control and biohazard procedures
  • participate actively as a team member committed to team goals
  • demonstrate Team Member Credo in interactions
  • commit to serving residents following Principles of Service
  • engage in team member surveys and improvement plans
  • attend meetings as directed by supervisors
  • maintain compliance in required training
  • perform other duties as assigned
