Job Description
Brookdale is widely recognized as one of America’s leading providers of senior living communities, dedicated to offering gracious hospitality and comfortable living for its residents. As an industry leader in clinical care, Brookdale operates over 675 communities nationwide, providing extensive opportunities for employees to grow professionally within a supportive and nurturing environment. The company prides itself on a home-like atmosphere where residents and their families experience all-around comfort and companionship. At Brookdale, staff members have the unique opportunity to partake in entertaining events and gatherings designed to foster connections among residents in both group and one-on-one settings. This focus on quality of life extends to employees, too, through a robust training program and extensive corporate support to help sales professionals and other team members enhance their skills and advance their careers.
The role offers both part-time and full-time positions, with benefits eligibility varying by employment status. Brookdale is proud to have been recognized by Newsweek in 2024 and 2025 as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity, affirming its commitment to an inclusive and engaging workplace culture. Employees will find that working at Brookdale means more than just earning a paycheck — it offers pathways to personal and professional growth through ongoing health and wellness programs, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive insurance and retirement benefits.
The Housekeeper position at Brookdale plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the living spaces within the community. Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning floors, dusting, removing trash, wet mopping, waxing, and disinfecting resident apartments, restrooms, and public areas. The duties also include vacuuming, shampooing, and deodorizing carpets, as well as other cleaning tasks that contribute to a hygienic and pleasant environment. This role requires a proactive approach to handling resident room emergencies and logging cleaning activities as needed. In addition to cleaning responsibilities, housekeepers serve as friendly and courteous representatives of Brookdale, interacting warmly with residents and guests to enhance their overall experience.
Brookdale offers a competitive compensation package with base pay determined by the applicant’s skills and experience. The role is also eligible for team-based bonus opportunities. While temporary associates are not benefits eligible, they may participate in the company’s 401(k) program. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, company-provided life insurance, adoption benefits, and disability coverage. Additional perks include tuition reimbursement, associate assistance programs, employee discounts, referral programs, early wage access, and optional voluntary benefits such as pet insurance and identity theft protection.
Veterans, transitioning active duty military personnel, and military spouses are strongly encouraged to apply. Brookdale further supports its associates by offering to advance fees for naturalization application costs to qualified employees who have been with the company for at least one year. This Housekeeper role not only supports the physical environment of the community but helps build a welcoming atmosphere where residents can truly feel at home, making it an essential and rewarding position within the company’s mission to make lives better, including the lives of its associates.
