Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience in housekeeping or laundry services preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with seniors and team members
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently
  • Compliance with safety and infection control standards
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and lift required loads
  • Willingness to participate in required training and health screenings
  • As applicable, review and sign driver job description if operating Sunrise vehicles
  • Pass drug test and meet other pre-employment health screenings as required by law.

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas while meeting or exceeding Sunrise's quality standards
  • Perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, dust mopping, wet mopping floors, spot cleaning and vacuuming floors, rugs, carpets and runners
  • Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize, and hand shampoo furniture
  • dust desk and floor lamps
  • clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills
  • Knock on resident's doors before entering and respect their privacy during cleaning
  • Knock on public restroom doors before entering and wait for response before beginning cleaning
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies, including clean and soiled linen, to appropriate storage and collection areas
  • Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles and collection areas in a clean and sanitary manner
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • Sort, wash, and dry linens following approved laundry procedures
  • Fold, count, and stack linens per approved procedures
  • Inspect linens for wear and tear and follow SOP for damaged linens
  • Maintain the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
  • Review and notate Daily Log for resident physical and behavioral changes
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
  • Keep cords, carts, equipment and hazards clear and compliant with fire codes
  • Partner with community team to comply with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout
  • Maintain equipment and supplies to prevent waste, damage, and accidents
  • Comply with infection control techniques, bio-hazard container placement and removal methods
  • Participate as a team member and commit to team goals
  • Demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • Commit to Principles of Service
  • Contribute to engagement programs and attend regular meetings
  • Maintain compliance in required training
  • Perform other assigned duties.
