The role of Houseaide at NorthStar Hospitality under the Marriott and Residence Inn brands is a crucial frontline position within the housekeeping department. This full-time hourly, non-exempt role is based in Lexington, Kentucky, and centers on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction throughout the property. The Houseaide is tasked with ensuring that all assigned public and employee areas are consistently clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, supporting the overall guest experience and operational efficiency. The position demands a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in delivering impeccable service.
As a Houseaide, the individual will collaborate closely with room attendants and other housekeeping personnel to manage and sustain cleanliness standards within strict time constraints. Responsibilities include cleaning public spaces, emptying trash receptacles, delivering and storing supplies, and addressing maintenance issues promptly by informing management. Additionally, the Houseaide must be physically capable of handling the demands of the role, including moving and transporting objects, repositioning throughout shifts, and adhering to safety protocols related to hazardous materials. The individual will also serve as a responsive and courteous representative of the brand, promptly attending to guest needs and facilitating communication between departments.

Job Requirements
- Ability to frequently move and transport objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance
- ability to move objects over 40 pounds with assistance
- capability to reposition self to collect objects from floor and overhead levels
- ability to stay in a stationary position or move for extended periods across an entire work shift
- willingness to follow hazardous material management procedures including usage of Safety Data Sheets
- ability to maintain accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work
- effective communication skills in moderate noise environments
- willingness to work full-time in Lexington, Kentucky
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior housekeeping or hospitality experience is an asset
- ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment
- ability to follow safety protocols including hazardous material handling
- strong attention to detail
- team player with a positive attitude
Job Duties
- Clean public and associate areas
- empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers
- assist room attendants as needed
- respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
- deliver, put away, or retrieve supply orders, cribs, roll-aways, and other room items
- identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms
- perform other duties as assigned and needed
