The role available at Hotel Burbank is that of a Houseperson, a vital member of the housekeeping team responsible for supporting Room Attendants in maintaining immaculate guest rooms and public areas. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $21.00 and requires an energetic, reliable individual who can handle the physical demands of the job while delivering exceptional guest service. The Houseperson assists with heavy lifting tasks like moving mattresses and linens, ensures the timely delivery of fresh linens and supplies to room attendants, and maintains the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas. Additionally, this role involves responding promptly to guest requests, performing general cleaning duties in public restrooms and other assigned common areas, and supporting teamwork through daily communication and collaboration with other hotel departments.

  • high school diploma preferred
  • some housekeeping experience in a hotel environment preferred
  • bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Job Duties

  • Practice OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • assist Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens (i.e. stripping linens from mattresses)
  • remove all dirty linens from assigned Room Attendants’ carts and closet to transport to laundry area throughout the day
  • deliver fresh linens and other cart supplies to Room Attendants throughout the day
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas: remove the trash, wipe down shelves/counters
  • sweep and wax the floor
  • remove non-floor closet items and store in appropriate areas
  • respond to guests’ requests such as the delivery of housekeeping supplies (i.e. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner
  • clean other areas such as public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas and other public areas for assigned floors
  • report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions
  • respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction
  • monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping
  • promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
  • may collect newspaper and other items for recycling
  • may regularly assist with deep cleaning projects and/or meeting setups and takedowns as needed
  • perform other duties as assigned
