This position offers a dynamic role where the successful candidate will engage in a wide range of duties from vendor management to event planning, and house staff supervision to personal assistance, ensuring the principals and guests experience top-tier service and comfort at all times.
The House Manager/Personal Assistant will act as the central point of contact for all household activities and services, managing bills, scheduling maintenance and construction work, and supervising grounds and pool care. They will also oversee the security team, ensuring that safety protocols are followed carefully. The role includes planning and executing events, managing fine art, furniture, and valuable assets, as well as caring for pets including grooming and veterinary visits. The candidate will provide light cooking and laundry services occasionally, prepare and serve cocktails, host guests, and manage meal service setups.
Transportation responsibilities include driving principals and guests, managing vehicle maintenance, and assisting with travel plans. The house manager will also schedule in-house spa appointments like massages and facials and handle turn-down service to prepare bedrooms for the principals' comfort. Additional duties include mail management, inventory and ordering of household supplies, medication management, seasonal decorating, and detailed documentation of invoices and receipts for accounting purposes. The role extends to providing support to other household staff such as housekeepers and chefs, managing payroll in coordination with the family CPA, and maintaining functionality of home technologies such as Sonos sound systems and security equipment. Consistent communication with the principals' executive assistant is essential to coordinate schedules and adapt to the family’s needs effectively.
This position offers a competitive salary paid twice monthly and comes with a comprehensive benefits package including a 401k plan, health insurance, dental coverage, and long-term disability insurance. Reimbursement for work-related expenses is provided, along with a cell phone plan and gas coverage during work hours. The House Manager/Personal Assistant will typically have two days off per week but must be ready to work on-call, including weekends and evenings as required by the principals' schedule. Travel is a required part of the position, usually 5 or 6 times per year, with trips lasting from one to two weeks. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with occasional overnight stays and be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement to protect the family’s privacy.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated household professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in managing a complex household with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to exceptional service. The role demands flexibility, discretion, and a proactive approach to problem-solving while maintaining a polished and professional demeanor at all times.
